DB Absolute Return Strategies, the global fiduciary hedge fund management business of Deutsche Bank, announced today that it has hired Mohammed Abdulmalik as Head of Sales for the Middle East.

Mohammed Abdulmalik joins as a managing director from UBS Global Asset Management where he led the groups business development initiatives for alternative investments in the Middle East.Prior to that, he held positions at Lend Lease Real Estate Investment Ltd. and JPMorgan Chase, both in Bahrain.

He will report to Tim Sweeting, Head of Sales for Europe and the Middle East for DB Absolute Return Strategies.Mohammed will be responsible for distributing fund of hedge funds and single-manager hedge funds to institutions and high-net-worth investors within the region.

DB Absolute Return Strategies has serviced Middle Eastern clients from its offices in London and New York for the past 8 years, said Mark Bolton, Head of Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific for DB Absolute Return Strategies. With Mohammed on the ground in the region, we will be able to enhance the service that we provide to clients.

Bolton added Mohammed brings with him a depth of product knowledge on alternative investments and will be instrumental in expanding our client base within the region.
